Purpose:
-
To carry out petrophysical studies and
operations in the multi-disciplinary team,
in order to support field development
activities for the purpose of maximizing
hydrocarbon recovery.

Dimensions
-
The client operates some 100 fields
encompassing many oil and gas complex
reservoir situations such as siliciliytes,
complex fluviatile clastics, fractured and
unfractured carbonates, light and heavy oil,
low permeability reservoirs, strong and weak
aquifers, recovery through depletion, water
injection and steam injection. Therefore,
the area offers extensive challenges
requiring application of new technology and
new evaluation techniques.

The fields are looked after by six asset
teams which comprises of engineering,
operations and petroleum engineering. The
teams work in a a highly integrated fashion
on both the development planning and
operations. The petroleum engineering
departments in the asset team generally
contain 20-30 professionals split between
Petrophysics, Reservoir Engineering,
Production Geology/Seismology and Production
Technology.

Accountabilities
-
* Undertake petrophysical study work to
support and improve reservoir
characterisation
-
* Apply state of the art petrophysical
interpretation techniques and work closely
with other disciplines to formulate and
implement business driven solutions to
integrated reservoir management issues.

* Plan and monitor cost effective logging,
coring programs and ensure best working
practices are carried out.

coordinate research projects to reduce
uncertainties, improve interpretation
methods and reservoir characterization.

* Contribute into well proposals
preparations and well evaluations.

procedures

Experience & Skills Required
-
Graduate petroleum engineer, physicist or
similar qualification. A minimum of 10 years
experience in petrophysical interpretation
and operations is required to meet the
challenges of the job. The jobs call for a
highly motivated individuals with a sound
background in petrophysics. Good
communication and reporting skills are
important, as well as the ability to work in
integrated teams.
