Senior Geologist

Bachelor degree in Geology, Ph. D is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

· Required to be a recognized authority in his discipline with detailed theoretical knowledge integrated with significant practical experience. In addition, the incumbent is required to have an in-depth knowledge of the other technical disciplines within Field Development.
· Successful track record in planning, organizing and execution of studies/projects.
· Due to the complex nature of the job substantial self-reliance and the ability to work with a high degree of independence is required.
· Ability to integrate disparate data and analysis from a variety of sources and technical disciplines into a coherent working synopsis.
· A fundamental prerequisite of the job is a comprehensive understanding and a clear demonstrable ability to optionally handle uncertainty.
· Be able to identify, source and validate primary engineering data.
· A solid understanding of economics and risk analysis is required.
· Be fully conversant with and comfortable with all relevant software applications in his discipline. Additionally, a working understanding of the software used by the other disciplines in the Team is required.
· Be able to communicate effectively with the other disciplines identifying what information at what time and at what accuracy is required.
· Be able to communicate specialist conclusions to non-discipline staff in a persuasive and competent manner.
· Have a proven ability to work effectively in teams.
12 years’ relevant experience within the Oil Industry practicing Geological and Petrophysical analysis for hydrocarbon reservoirs.
